The Teacher and the Grasshopper setup top ropes over Love Hurts (23) and Samsons Pillar (16). The rest of the crew today were Nicey, the Giggler, Red and the Chock. Tonight was very busy, not because it was the first clear night but one of the Uni rockclimbing clubs decided to setup 5 ropes all [...] Jenesse, Nicole, Brock, Shane, Faz and I setup two abseil ropes over the Nursery Cliff. Most had either not abseiled or were out of practice for many years. Nicey was first to descend and despite being out of practice had no issues jumping down. I was on abseil next to her and guided her down [...] Tonight the crew gathered for their regular Monday night social climb at Kangaroo Point cliff, Brisbane. Some climbing highlights of the evening: Gilligan leads Pterodactyl. He cleans Chippas too. The Giggler climbs to the head wall of Pterodactyl. About 3/4 up on a grade 17! Red (Rambo went AWOL: no headband) works the crux of [...] Tie in. Belay On. Enjoy the climb. This story joins the Grasshopper, Gilligan, the Teacher, the Giggler, Bigfoot, Rambo and the Chock at Kangaroo Point cliffs, Brisbane. They have setup top ropes on Olos and Snake in the Grass. Gilligan is preparing to lead Surrender. Meanwhile, Bigfoot is being attacked by a swarm of angry [...] This time he’s climbing for his life. Today’s climbing centers on Red Rambo the Hippy, a former member of Oracle’s Web ADI (an elite Software Development unit) who coded in Java and is a PhD student at UQ. Rambo has difficulty adjusting to hippy uni life and wanders the campus as a drifter. Our story [...] |
